Cartersville Man Charged With Murder

Investigators with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office have arrested and charged a Cartersville man in connection to the death of a woman near Cassville.

Police arrested 39-year-old Tiburcio Losano Santana and charged him with one count of felony murder, Sheriff Clark Millsap said on Thursday.
Deputies responded to a call at a home at the Friendly Lane Mobile Home Park, which sits off Mac Johnson Road, just before 1 a.m. June 18.

Upon their arrival, they discovered a 36-year-old woman dead in her home with “multiple injuries,“ said Sgt. Jonathan Rogers.
After some leg work, deputies were able to track down Santana, who Rogers said was the victim’s neighbor. The sheriff’s office said the victim will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Her name is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin, Rogers added.
