Cartersville Man Dies in Cobb Accident

Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in the accident that occurred just west of Town Center Mall.

Cobb County police are investigating a single-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old Cartersville man.

According to the agency’s press release, officers were dispatched to a fatal wreck along George Busbee Parkway west of Town Center Mall in unincorporated Kennesaw just after 3 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14.

Police say Eric White, 27, was traveling northbound in a grey 2008 Chevrolet Colbat when he lost control of the vehicle while trying to negotiate a curve in the road.

After losing control, officers believe the vehicle left the eastern side of the road in a clockwise rotation and the driver’s side of the car hit a tree along the shoulder of the roadway, Cobb police said.

Police believe excessive speed was a contributing factor in the collision.
