Cartersville Man Escapes From Jail, Apprehended 15 Minutes Later

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A man from Cartersville escaped from the Acworth Detention Center, but was found less than 15 minute later by Acworth Police.

On Friday, officers with the Acworth Police Department were notified that a person in custody had escaped from the Acworth Detention Center.

The escapee, was later identified as Justin Scott Wilson, 30, of Cartersville. He was in custody for failure to appear on traffic charges.

Wilson was apprehended in less than 15 minutes by the Acworth Police Department. He was returned to the Detention Center where he was treated for injuries sustained from barbed and razor wire during the escape, police said.

Charges on Wilson will be made pending investigation.
