Cartersville Man Killed in Workplace Accident

The man was fatally wounded when he was crushed between a computerized forklift and a doorway at Graham Packaging Company.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A Cartersville man died early Tuesday morning in a workplace accident at a packaging company in Bartow County.

The accident at Graham Packaging Company was reported around 4:30 a.m. Dec. 20, said Bartow County Corner Joel Guyton.

Guyton stated the worker, identified as 40-year-old David Ambrose, was fatally wounded when he was crushed between a computerized forklift and a doorway.

Graham Packaging's facility is located at 415 Industrial Park Road, which is located off Peeples Valley Road NW in Cartersville. According to its website, the company provides an array of plastic packaging solutions for food, beverage, household, automotive, healthcare and personal items.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has launched an investigation into the accident, spokesperson Michael D'Aquino said.
