Cartersville Middle School wins 3 of 4 tourney titles
The Cartersville Middle School basketball teams won three of the four 2015 BGMSAA titles.

The basketball teams at Cartersville Middle School won three of the four 2015 Bartow-Gordon Middle School (BGMSAA) basketball championship tournaments completed this week at Adairsville Middle School.
Cartersville won the Girls, Boys, and JV Girls titles although none of the three entered the tournament as the regular season’s top seed. In fact, none of the league’s regular season top seeds went on to win their respective tournaments.

The Cartersville girls entered tournament play as the league’s No. 2 seed and made the finals by eliminating Cass 22-12 in the semis. The Lady Canes then knocked off top-seeded Calhoun, 34-32, to claim the championship.
Cartersville’s boys team finished regular season play in the BGMSAA as the league’s third seed and eliminated No. 6 seed South Central 39-34 in the opening round. The ‘Canes topped No. 2 seed Calhoun 47-39 in the semifinals and edged top-seeded Cass in the championship game 41-38.

The Cartersville Middle JV Girls beat third-seed Woodland 26-22 in the tournament semifinals and No. 4 seed Adairsville in the title game, 37-18. Adairsville had eliminated Cass and top seed Calhoun to reach the finals.
The JV Boys championship was won by Cass. The Cass Middle JV Colonels finished the regular season as the second seed, but knocked off Calhoun 42-25 in the semifinals and top-seed Cartersville in the championship game, 32-20.
The 2015 BGMSAA tournament was held January 21-29 at Adairsville Middle School.
