UPDATE: Cartersville Murder Suspect Arrested By Police

CARTERSVILLE, GA—The Cartersville Police Department has arrested a man wanted for murder.

Poice say Tavares Atwell, 35, of Cartersville is accused of a fatal shooting that took place at 1400 Joe Frank Harris Parkway on Tuesday evening.

He was seen leaving the scene on foot and was wearing all black and work boots, according to police.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Julia T Malachi.

Atwell has been charged with murder with malice, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
