Cartersville Named One of Magazine's 16 Friendliest Towns
Our town is one of two in Georgia to receive the honor.
One of two cities in Georgia to be named Blue Ridge Country's 16 Friendliest Towns, received the honors with likes of Clarkesville, GA; Greenville, SC; and Charleston, WV.
Realizing "we all love our hometowns," the regional publication's informal, unscientific poll solicited nominations from readers. The magazine focuses on the people and activities of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
"The magazine went out in search of these hometowns using unscientific polling," the press release states. "Interesting enough, all of the winners were located in or near mountains. Knowing many people love their hometown, the recognized towns were places where the love for the community continually came back to the people that live there, the history, scenery or all of them together."
