Cartersville Pair Charged With Robbing Cab Driver

A Cartersville man and woman are in the Bartow County Jail on charges of robbery in connection to an incident that occurred early Monday morning.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, Ashley Blair Johnson and Derrick Eugene Gainor, both of Cartersville, were arrested Monday afternoon with the help of the Cartersville Police Department.
Johnson is accused of robbery by sudden snatching of money from a taxi cab driver, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday. The incident occurred early Monday morning following a cab fare.

Gainor, who was with Johnson at the time of the alleged incident, is charged with party to the crime of robbery, the agency said.
The taxi driver was able to provide information to identify the two alleged offenders. Johnson and Gainor are currently in custody at the jail pending a bond hearing.
