Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:

1. Sisters Sandy Kahley and Heather Jordan, owners of Gibbs Girls Peaches are starting a new venture with Nothing Bundt Cakes. Jordan helps out at the bakery as needed on weekends and holidays and handles the financial side of their business. Kahley works full-time handling marketing events at their Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise in Warner Robins and is the face of their business within the community. (Macon Telegraph)
2. Recent reports say the development along the I-75 corridor is only out-paced by the I-85/northeast region. Much of that growth around I-75 is in Bartow County and "has become an up-and-coming industrial hub for its availability of untapped land." (Northwest Georgia News)
3. Cartersville native Mason Barnett has been drafted into Major League Baseball by the Kansas City Royals. Barnett was selected in the third round as the 87th overall selection. (247sports.com)
