Based in Cartersville, the Cartersville Songwriters Exchange is a resource tool for songwriters in Cartersville and surrounding areas in northwestern Georgia. Its goal is to support and encourage the art of songwriting, to provide resources and opportunities to our local songwriters, and to provide a positive environment in which songwriters can fully develop their potential.
Founded in early 2010 by Owens, the Cartersville Songwriters Exchange hosts weekly meetings, which not only showcases exceptional local talent, but gives local songwriters an avenue to exchange songwriting ideas, provide useful tips and suggestions through song critiques, and to discuss anything about songwriting and/or music in general.
“I kept meeting local songwriters, and sought out a local writers association to join,“ Owens said. “Since there was not one, I decided to start the Cartersville Songwriters Exchange.“
