Cartersville School Board Holds Tuition Fee At Current Level

The board on Monday voted to keep the out-of-district fee in place for the upcoming school year.

At its regular Feb. 9 meeting, the Cartersville City School Board approved holding in place its out-of-district tuition fee for the 2015-16 school year.

Current tuition-paying students will qualify for a tuition rate of $200 per family if the fee is paid by June 30, 2015. After the June deadline, the rate rises to $300 per student. The rate is also $300 per student for any new out-of-district student admitted to the system.

The board also voted to waive Policy DJED and approve Martin Neon & Signs for demolition, installation and fabrication of Daktronics Scoreboard at Cartersville High School Weinman Stadium. Demolition is slated to cost $6,720 while installation is proposed $13,800 and fabrication at $16,800.

They also voted to approve purchase of Cartersville High School football uniforms and equipment from 360 Sports.

The slate of personnel recommendations was approved as presented, including the transfer of Cartersville Assistant Principal Melissa White to serve as principal at Cartersville Primary School. That move will go into effect June. 1.

The next board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 9. The next work session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5.
