These public hearings will provide interested stakeholders the opportunity to learn about the system’s intent and plans to renew its charter status agreement with the State Board of Education, to ask questions and provide input.
The district must submit its renewal application by Nov. 1. The current charter expires June 2015, and the system will be seeking a 10-year renewed charter. The charter provides the school system and its schools flexibility in operations and delivery of educational services in exchange for higher expectations for student achievement.
