Cartersville Teen Convicted of Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping Charges
Bartow sheriff's authorities charged Sherron Tyree Burrell in connection to at least two assaults that occurred in 2013.

A Bartow County jury has convicted a Cartersville teenager on aggravated assault and kidnapping charges.
The jury on Wednesday convicted Sherron Tyree Burrell on one count each of kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and battery.
Burrell was found not guilty of an additional aggravated assault charge. Sentencing will take place at 9 a.m. Dec. 9 before Bartow Superior Court Judge Carey Nelson III.

Deputies with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Burrell — who was 15 years old at the time — in July 2013 and charged him with kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery in a July 13, 2013, incident involving a 32-year-old victim.
He was also arrested and charged as an adult with rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated assault and burglary charges in connection with a July 12, 2013, incident involving a 19-year-old victim.
