Cathy Dianne Mauldin, 51, of Cartersville, died Sunday, Oct. 5 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born December 28, 1962 in Clarkesville, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Charles Logan Ferguson and Dorothy Holcomb Ferguson. Cathy was a member of Euharlee Baptist Church for over 20 years and was a former Sunday School teacher.

Together with her husband Jeff, she owned and operated Cody J’s Restaurant for the last 26 years. Cathy Mauldin was a bright ray of sunshine to everyone she met, always thinking of a kind deed she could do for any troubled soul. Kindness with compassion and love were her known trademarks.

Good times with family and friends were always centered around food, fun, and fellowship. Laughter, tears, and memories were made forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to walk among “A special child of the King.” She was a Godly woman, and the love of her life was her two sons, Cody & Chase, and her husband, Jeff.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Jeff Mauldin; sons, Cody Mauldin and Chase Mauldin, both of Cartersville; mother, Dot Ferguson of Cartersville; sister, Kelly Ferguson and her special friend, Melissa Adams of Cartersville; her in-laws, Max & Virginia Mauldin of Cartersville; sister-in-law, Tammy Mauldin of Cartersville; brother-in-law, Derick Mauldin and his wife Missy of Cartersville; sister-in-law, Dana Bruce and her husband Jim of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. at Euharlee Baptist Church with the Reverend Bradley Baker, the Reverend Randy Postell, Carla Knight and Joan Hamrick officiating. Mauldin will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Serving as Pallbearers will be Anthony Ferguson, Mark Coleman, Randy Knight, Greg Brock, Tim Holcomb and Shane McPherson.

The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to Euharlee Baptist Church, 1103 Euharlee Road, Euharlee, GA 30145, in memory of Cathy.
