Cause of Death Determined For Man Found Dead in Lake Allatoona

The man whose body was found Friday evening in a portion of Allatoona Lake died by drowning.

That’s according to Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton, who confirmed the news to Patch. The man’s body was pulled from the lake around 5 p.m. Nov. 6 at Bethany Bridge, The Daily Tribune News reported.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division both responded to the call, which alluded to something floating in the water about 150 feet from the bridge near Allatoona Dam, the newspaper said.

Guyton said no one has come forward to identity the man, so no next of kin can be notified.
