Child Death Case: Cops Found Man, Woman 'Screaming For Help'
The two-year-old girl was found unresponsive Monday morning in an apartment unit on Old Mill Road in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Cartersville Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a toddler, and the agency has released the initial incident report related to the March 19 tragedy. The two-year-old girl was found unresponsive around 7 a.m. Monday in a unit at Hannah Apartments in the 300 block of Old Mill Road.
According to the incident report, officers were dispatched to the call of a two-year-old not breathing. They arrived at the apartment unit and found the front door open. The first officer entered the apartment and went to a back bedroom where "a man and woman were standing and screaming for help."
"Both subjects surrounded a small female juvenile approximately 2 years in age," the officer wrote. "I immediately approached the juvenile and began CPR."

After performing about three cycles of CPR, another officer arrived at the apartment and used a face mask to provide oxygen to the little girl. However, Cartersville Fire Department crews arrived at the home and "confirmed that the juvenile was deceased," the report adds.
