Here are the top three stories in Cartersville today:
- The Cartersville toddler that has been missing since last Sunday has been found. The child was found with relatives in New York who "did not know what was going on in Georgia." That relative has since been charged with "kidnappings, party to crime, influencing a witness and obstruction." The child's stepmother has still not been located. (fox5atlanta.com)
- Trinity at the Well and Sam Jones Methodist Church will be offering traditional and drive-thru Ash Wednesday observances. For Trinity, this will be the first year to offer drive-thru services. According to Rev. Lathem Postell, Sam Jones has been offering these services since 2020. Both Trinity's and Sam Jones' drive -thru services will be Wednesday, Feb. 2 beginning at 7 a.m. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
- Party City took a major hit in 2020 with COVID-19 shutting down in-person gatherings. After filing bankruptcy, the retailer will close 22 of its locations. The Cartersville location is set to close this month. (businessinsider.com)
