Investigators with the Cartersville Police Department, along with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, on Wednesday, March 2 arrested and charged Franklin Lee-Clark Gilmore, 24, for possession and dissemination of child porn, the agency said Friday afternoon.
The investigation initially began in June 2014, but caught a break this week when an officer assigned to the police department's Special Operations Unit observed Gilmore leave his home, and initiated a traffic stop to positively identify the suspect.

Gilmore was arrested on tag light required, possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects charges, and a tablet and cell phone were seized during the arrest.
Cartersville police and Homeland Security investigators interviewed Gilmore, and he "admitted to being in possession of, amassing, disseminating, soliciting and receiving child pornography through peer-to-peer websites and social media applications," Cartersville police said.
The agency alleges Gilmore was in possession of more than 300 sexually explicit images and videos involving children on multiple devices.
The following day, investigators obtained and executed a search warrant at Gilmore's home on Dogwood Trail, and about 30 cell phones, computers, external hard drives and cameras were taken during the raid. Drugs and two firearms were also seized during the search.
Four additional people who lived at the home -- Ashley Sierra Adcox, 20, Susan Agustus Gilmore, 52, Wesley Martin Gilmore, 21, and Brittany Kay Lemaster, 24, -- were also arrested.
Cartersville police spokesperson Lt. Mike Bettikofer said Wesley and Franklin Gilmore are brothers, and they are the sons of Susan Gilmore. He also said Adcox is the girlfriend of Wesley Gilmore.
Adcox was charged with possession of Schedule 2, Possession of Schedule 4 and possession of a firearm while trying to commit crimes. Lemaster is charged with possession of meth while Wesley Gilmore is charged with possession of Schedule 2, possession of Schedule 4 and possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes.
Susan Gilmore is charged with possession of meth and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Cartersville police said only one victim has been identified as residing in Bartow County, and investigators are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to identify other victims. The case remains active and ongoing.
