Christmas Tree Drop-Off Sites Open Dec. 26

Seven Allatoona Lake sites will accept trees that will be used for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' fish habitat improvement project.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District's Allatoona Lake Project Office will provide seven Christmas tree drop-off sites for the 2016-17 holiday season.

These seven sites include:

  • Allatoona Operations Project Management Office, 1138 S.R. 20 Spur, Cartersville;
  • Victoria Day Use, 955 Victoria Landing Drive, Woodstock;
  • Galt’s Day Use, 7299 Rocky Lane, Acworth;
  • Sweetwater Campground Overflow parking area, 1400 Field’s Chapel Road, Canton;
  • Payne Boat Ramp, 2495 Kellogg Creek Road, Acworth;
  • Blockhouse 1 fishing jetty (behind Paw Paw’s Convenience Store at 6817 N. Main Street, Acworth); and
  • Bethany Bridge Fishing Jetty parking area in Bartow County.

All drop-off sites will be marked with signs and flagging tape with utilization beginning on Dec. 26. The collected trees will be used for the Allatoona Lake Fish Habitat Improvement Program, a partnership between federal, state, and local governments, as well as several group organizations and businesses.
