“This is such an exciting evening of fun, holiday cheer and community support,” said Cartersville DDA Special Events Coordinator Hollie Duncan. “Having lived in Cartersville for six years and attending this parade for much longer than that, it is my most favorite event. The Tree Lighting in Friendship Plaza is a wonderful way to enjoy local talent from the youth of our community, and the official lighting of the tree before the parade kicks off makes me ecstatic.
Free photo opportunities with Santa will be available starting at 4 p.m. in front of the downtown Christmas tree. Cartersville DDA is excited to announce the return of Cindy Harter of Cindy Harter Photography, who will provide free, professional photographs with Santa.
Merry Heart will make a guest appearance and keep everyone entertained as they wait in line to see Santa. At 4:30 p.m., the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice winners of the Christmas Window Decorating contest will be announced and will both receive a reward of $200.
At 4:35 p.m., Cartersville School of Ballet will perform on stage, followed by Fusion Dance Company at 5:15 p.m.
The Tom and Chad Show will also provide additional music and entertainment throughout the event and at 5:59 p.m., they will lead the countdown to the official lighting of the Christmas Tree at Friendship Plaza.
The Exchange Club’s parade will kick off at 6 p.m., and the details of the route can be found here.
