  1. Suspect hospitalized after Cartersville officer-involved shooting: Cartersville Police were dispatched on Thursday to the Circle K at 902 Joe Frank Harris Parkway due to a report of a subject with a gun. The man had allegedly shot at the door of the gas station and had been pointing the weapon at other people. When the responding officer requested the suspect show his hands, the man fled on foot and began to shoot at the officer. The officer gave chase, returned fire and shot the suspect. The police officer was not injured. Once released from the hospital, the suspect will face an aggravated assault charge and other possible charges. (wbhfradio.org)

Cass High Colonels featured on Good Day Atlanta: The Cass High School Colonels, led by former Georgia Bulldog offensive lineman Steve Gates, were named the last High 5 Sports Team of the Week for the year. The Cass Colonels upset 4th-ranked Jefferson in the first round of the playoffs last Friday and are now looking to advance to the quarterfinals with a win over Mays. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
