City Council Green Lights Duathlon

Leaders Thursday held a work session and regular meeting.

Despite concerns of loud music and closed streets, the will work with PT Solutions to host its duathlon again next year.

This year the event was held on Palm Sunday and street closures meant some residents had trouble commuting to and from churches and their homes, Councilman Louis Tonsmeire Sr. said.

But Mayor Matt Santini said the duathlon is the kind of event Cartersville should host. He asked Parks and Recreation officials to work with organizers to minimize problems around the Dellinger Park area during next year's biking and sporting event.
