Here are the top three stories today in Cartersville:

  1. City Council awards Marietta firm's resurfacing bid: The City of Cartersville had an Oct. 6 public meeting and addressed other items on the agenda. One of those included accepting Blount Construction's bid for various resurfacing projects. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
  2. GHC phasing out the music: Georgia Highlands College will phase out the Music and Music Business programs within the next academic year. Current students with those declared majors will not have to transfer to continue their education. However, no new students will be accepted into the music programs. (Six Mile Post)
  3. Old Car City had visitors: Old Car City USA had fashion photographers visiting from London, New York and LA. Owner Dean Lewis was even asked for his signature. (Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau via Facebook)
