City's Plans To Relocate 2 Water Mains Could Lead To Discoloration

The Cartersville Water Department will perform the work on Tuesday, weather permitting.

Weather permitting, the Cartersville Water Department on April 21 will relocate two large diameter critical water mains for the Georgia Department of Transportation’s U.S. 41/411 interchange project.

The city notes on its Facebook page that the work will take about 24 hours to complete.

During that time, some customers may experience discolored water and lower than normal water pressure and flow.

On Wednesday, April 22, the city will begin restoring normal service by flushing lines and opening valves. This activity may also cause periods of significantly discolored water for some time.

Residents are asked to alan accordingly and not to wash clothes or light colored fabrics.
