Class of 2012: If You're One of Us, Then Roll with Us
The senior girls of 2012 are making their mark on Cartersville.
On the night of Aug. 2, all through Cartersville, many creatures were stirring and many senior girls were rolling. Rolling, or TP'ing, is the act of making one's yard simply look as if a snow storm hit by using toilet paper, shredded paper, shaving cream or anything else the senior girls could get their hands on. This malicious act was ultimately out of good intent welcoming the freshmen girls (class of 2015) into high school. It is a long standing tradition at for the senior girls to "roll" the freshmen girls.
Many adults think this is cruel, however, most high schoolers seem to think differently. One never forgets the first day of high school, and getting "rolled" the night before is simply a warm welcome. For instance, I vividly remember the night before school started my freshmen year. I was highly anticipating the arrival of the class of 2009 seniors to roll me. However, I waited all night for them and waking up to a winter wonderland in my yard only made my first day of high school that much better.
This year was 2012's turn. They waited patiently for four years for this moment of glory and nothing was going to stop them. Each freshmen girl's yard was decorated with toilet paper, many trash bags full of shredded paper, signs and much more. It was a night that will always be remembered in the eyes of the senior girls of 2012. Many neighborhoods such as those in the Waterford and Wellington areas were the main targets hit during this night.

It was simply a night full of making cherished memories, and starting out senior year right, with hopes of making it the best year yet, ending the final chapter of high school, forever.
