- Cartersville offensive lineman signs with UCF: The University of Central Florida has received a letter of intent from Johnathan Cline, one of Cartersville High's offensive linemen. Cline had received offers from Miami, Memphis, East Carolina and several other programs. Cline ultimately chose UCF because he was most comfortable with everything that UCF had to offer. - Weather alert for Bartow County: NWS Peachtree City GA issued a wind chill watch from late Thursday night through Saturday morning. Wind chills could be as low as 10 below zero. Temps are expected to rapidly drop into the 20s to teens late Thursday night into Friday. Lows on Saturday morning will vary from single digit temps to the mid teens. - Cartersville man pleads guilty to sexual battery involving minor: On Dec. 19, a Cartersville man was sentenced to five years after he pled guilty to one count of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.
