Brown OKs SPLOST Referendum
Bartow County Commissioner Clarence Brown also tweaked the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax proposal to purchase and install a new radio system across the county.
At a public meeting today, Commissioner Clarence Brown approved a referendum to officially put on the November ballot a proposed that would fund several projects.
In a second move, Brown approved a change in the language of the agreement between the county and its cities to allow a newer type of radio system that also would be funded with those SPLOST dollars. He said officials wanted the option due to new techonology that later may be available.
