Corps of Engineers To Host Archery Deer Hunt For Disabled Residents
The archery-only hunt for residents who are "permanently confined" to a wheelchair will take place Dec. 8-9 near Cartersville.

Disabled residents who would love to get outdoors and hunt will have the chance to do so in December.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host an archery-only deer hunt for disabled residents Dec. 8-9. Hunting blinds will be provided throughout McKinney Campground, but are only accessible by registration and limited to hunters “permanently confined” to a wheelchair, the Corps said.

A non-hunting assistant can accommodate the participating resident and each hunter must also possess a valid Georgia Big Game license.
Residents can register by phone or in-person starting Monday, Oct. 20 through Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until all spaces are taken. You can contact or visit the Allatoona Lake Operations Project Management Office at 1138 Georgia Highway 20 Spur SE in Cartersville to register.
