The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested the Calhoun residents Friday in the death of the woman's three-year-old son.

CALHOUN, GA — A Calhoun mother and her boyfriend have been charged in connection to the death of the woman's three-year-old son in Gordon County.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Robert Elder, 32, and Olivia Groomes, 25, both of Calhoun, and charged them with one count each of cruelty to children in the second degree and second degree murder two months after the death of Sebastian Kincaid, the GBI said Saturday.

Sebastian, 3, was taken to Gordon Hospital on Tuesday, May 22 by Groomes, his mother, and pronounced dead a short time later, the GBI said. The GBI and the Calhoun Police Department launched an investigation into the child's death, and Groomes and Elder were both arrested Friday, July 27.
