Crews Recover Body From Allatoona Lake In Bartow County
BREAKING: The 22-year-old male's body was found Monday afternoon near the Red Top Mountain swimming beach area on Allatoona Lake.
BARTOW COUNTY, GA -- State game wardens have recovered the body of the 22-year-old swimmer who was reported missing Sunday afternoon at Red Top Mountain State Park at Allatoona Lake in Bartow County.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division spokesperson Mark McKinnon said the body of Gerardo Soto, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, was found just before noon Monday, Aug. 21 near the park's swimming area.

Soto was swimming at the beach area early Sunday afternoon when he went under water and never resurfaced. He was reported missing, and state local crews began searching for the man's body around 2 p.m. Aug. 20. The search wrapped up Sunday evening and resumed around 7:30 a.m. Monday, McKinnon said.
