Here are the top stories in Cartersville today:

1. Cartersville Police Department's Deputy Chief Jason DiPrima is facing criminal charges out of Florida. According to the Cartersville Police Department, DiPrima was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida for soliciting prostitution, lewdness or assignation. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
2. Shaw Industries is partnering with Premise Health to operate Shaw Family Health Center. The new facility, located near several of Shaw's manufacturing, marketing and product development operations, will offer associates a wide variety of care options. (Floor Focus)
3. The Bartow County Board of Elections and Voter Registration gathered for a special called meeting on Sept. 1 and accepted a candidate for an open absentee ballot coordinator position. Candidate Joe Eberly accepted the offer and is expected to begin official duties around Sept. 15. (Subscription: The Daily Tribune)
