The Georgia State Patrol has charged Jessica Lenora Wilder, 29, with failure to maintain lane, driving without insurance and second-degree vehicular homicide, the agency said.
Police say Wilder was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze southbound on Glade Road in Bartow County around 3:52 p.m. Dec. 29, 2014, while 27-year-old Brady M. Brendel of Acworth was walking in the same direction on the shoulder of the road.

The Cruze traveled off the shoulder and hit Brendel with the right front side of the car, said a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson. After impact, the car came to a controlled rest on the right shoulder.
Wilder told police that “the pedestrian was not in the roadway when the accident occurred,” the state agency said. The victim died from injuries sustained in the wreck.
Wilder was booked into the Bartow County Jail on Wednesday, July 15 and is currently held with no bond, jail records show.
