Driver Dies in Fiery Crash

A motorist is dead following a two-vehicle collision Saturday evening in Bartow County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident occurred along Interstate 75 near mile marker 303 around 6:53 p.m. Sept. 26.

Initial reports indicates a passenger vehicle struck a tractor trailer “that was legally parked on the shoulder,” the agency said.

The passenger vehicle caught fire, and the driver died at the scene of the crash.

Identification of the deceased driver is pending notification of next of kin. Return to Patch for updates.
