It was the second reported fatality connected to an accident occurring on Tuesday within the county. The first crash took place overnight Tuesday along U.S. 411 near Industrial Drive.
Initial reports show that vehicle left the roadway and hit several trees before coming to a stop, Bartow County Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Brad Cothran said.
The male driver was found unresponsive at the scene, and a medical helicopter was requested to transport the patient to a hospital.
However, Cothran said the man went into cardiac arrest as he was placed into an ambulance. The patient was transported to Cartersville Medical Center, but was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at the emergency room, Cothran stated.
