Driver Injured When Car Leaves Road, Strikes Culvert

One person was injured when a vehicle left the roadway and struck a culvert on U.S. 41 Friday afternoon.

Crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services responded to the one-vehicle accident on Joe Frank Harris Parkway just north of Woody Road in Adairsville.

Bartow County EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran said following the crash, crews arrived on the scene and found a male in his 30s suffering from a head injury, a pelvic fracture and lower extremity trauma.

Cothran said a medical helicopter was requested due to the severity of the trauma, and the patient was flown to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.
