Driver Strikes Woman With Car in Cartersville

The following information was obtained from an incident report released by the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of a woman who was struck by a vehicle at a convenience store over the weekend.

A deputy was dispatched around 11:11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5 to the BP station at 806 Euharlee Road in Cartersville.

The deputy arrived on the scene and met with a woman who recounted the events leading up to the hit and run.

According to an incident report released by the sheriff's office, the victim said she was traveling eastbound on Euharlee Road at Milam Bridge Road when a white Nissan Versa passed her on the double line and pulled into the gas station.

The victim pulled her vehicle behind the Nissan to write down its tag number. While on the phone with 911 dispatchers, the victim said the driver of the car came out of the store, cursed at her and got back into her car, according to the report.

As she was giving the dispatcher the details of the vehicle, the victim said the female driver of the Nissan backed into her, hit both of her legs and fled the scene, the report said.

The victim refused treatment by EMS crews. According to the report, the victim told police she was unaware who the driver of the Nissan was.
