Dumbbell-Toting ATM Destroyer Arrested In Cartersville
Police say Thomas Benjamin Gilstrap allegedly used a 20-pound dumbbell to damage an ATM outside Family Savings Credit Union.
CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The man accused of using a dumbbell to damage an ATM last week in Cartersville has been apprehended, police said.
Cartersville resident Thomas Benjamin Gilstrap was identified as the man who wielded a 20-pound dumbbell to damage an ATM outside Family Savings Credit Union on Douthit Ferry Road.
Cartersville police said on its Facebook page that Gilstrap was identified by a citizen "who observed that one bicep was much larger than the other."

Gilstrap was allegedly captured on camera around 8:50 p.m. May 14 using the weight to "willfully damage" the ATM, Cartersville police previously said.

Bartow County Jail records show Gilstrap was booked into the facility May 19 on one count of criminal damage to property in the second degree and was released May 20 after posting a $3,000 bond.
