Easter Bake Sale Helps Fight Child Neglect, Abuse

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Flowering Branch Children's Shelter will help you stock up on various goodies to enjoy this Easter weekend by hosting a bake sale on Friday.

The sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25 at Friendship Plaza in downtown Cartersville.

The Children's Shelter is Advocates for Children's residential program for abused, neglected and runaway children. The facility can house up to 13 children and teens at one time, and is complete with a dedicated staff who serve the clients 24 hours a day, 356 days a year.

Youth who are members of the residential program receive case management services, individual and family counseling, development of social and independent living skills, and assistance with achieving a high school diploma, GED or entrance into college.

Advocates for Children is a nonprofit organization operating eight programs dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse in all its forms. Serving over 3,000 children and families each year, Advocates strengthens our community by offering safety, comfort, and hope to children and families.
