UPDATE at 2:32 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19: The Cartersville Police Department says Ethelyn Richards, 73, has been located in another state and is safe.

The Cartersville Police Department is asking the public to help them locate a missing elderly woman.

The family of Ethelyn Richards, 73, has not seen her in about two weeks, said Cartersville police spokesperson Lt. Mike Bettikofer.

Bettikofer said her family describes Richards as “homeless,” and that she usually gets around using cabs. Local cab companies have been given a heads up about Richards’ disappearance, but “most reported not seeing her in about a week,” Bettikofer added.

Richards is a black female who is 5’1’’ and weighs around 130 pounds. According to a Mattie’s Call report taken by Cartersville police, she is believed to have dementia.

Anyone who sees Richards is asked to call Cartersville police at 770-382-2526.
