Escaped Prisoner Captured in Indiana

The prisoner who escaped from a transport van last week outside a Cartersville restaurant has been captured by authorities in Indiana.

Sean Patrick Killion, 42, was arrested without incident near Ellettsville, Indiana, the Cartersville Police Department said in a press release. Ellettsville is about an hour southwest of Indianapolis.

Agencies involved in Killion’s arrest include the U.S. Marshals Service, Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Corrections and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force. Killion will be taken to a federal holding facility at an undisclosed location, Cartersville Police Chief Thomas Culpepper added.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Killion was aboard a private prisoner transport bus parked outside Pizza Hut at 122 Merchants Square Drive when he allegedly attacked a female guard and managed to get away, Cartersville police previously told Patch.

The van stopped at the restaurant to eat and allow the prisoners to use the restrooms when the incident occurred, a guard told officers following the escape.

Killion was being transported by the private transport company from Florida to Indiana after he was arrested on parole violation charges in the Sunshine State.
