Euharlee Man Charged With Rape, Child Molestation
Cartersville police initially learned about the alleged incident in January.

Cartersville police have charged a Euharlee resident with a slew offenses related to allegedly molesting an underage victim.
Jeramie Edward Akins, 26, was booked into the Bartow County Jail at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 and charged with aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, cruelty to children, child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and rape.

The April 29, 2015, jail report released by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office details the specific charges Akins face. Those include one count of rape, two counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of incest, four counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, four counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
According to an incident report released by the Cartersville Police Department, a juvenile victim in Cherokee County on Jan. 21 disclosed the alleged acts during a forensic interview conducted at the Anna Crawford Children’s Center in Canton.

A follow-up physical was performed at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
The incident was transferred to Cartersville Police Department on Jan. 30 when it was discovered the act allegedly occurred in its jurisdiction.
Akins remains at the Bartow County jail with no bond.
