This special exhibit from the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum gives visitors a view into the cockpits of historic aircraft and spacecraft from the collection of the National Air and Space Museum. The life-size images, created by Smithsonian photographers Eric Long and Mark Avino, offer visitors a close and personal sense of the cockpit from the pilot's point of view. The photographs range from the very simple controls of the 1903 Wright Flyer to the complex cockpit of NASA space shuttle Columbia.
