Excel Christian Academy To Move To Emerson

The Cartersville-based school, which is celebrating 25 years, will relocate to the former Emerson Elementary School.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Cartersville-based Excel Christian Academy has inked a deal that would allow the facility to relocate to an old school building in Emerson.

The academy on Monday announced an agreement with the city to buy the former Emerson Elementary School at 54 7th Street. The purchase agreement will allow the school to relocate from its facility at 325 Old Mill Road in Cartersville to the Emerson school.

The upcoming 2017-18 school year will mark the 25th anniversary of Excel Christian Academy's presence in Cartersville.

"We are so thankful for this opportunity our Lord has given us," said Excel Christian Academy President Danny Deems. "Emerson will be a great location for Excel, and we look forward to the future as we build and expand the campus. What a great place to continue our rich legacy in education.”

Chief Operating Officer Clay Stewart said planning will soon begin for Excel's transition to the new campus.
