  1. A child died in a car crash on Highway 41 at Mac Johnson Road in Cartersville Wednesday. According to preliminary reports from Georgia State Patrol, an eleven-year-old boy from Fairmont died and his mother was transported to Kennestone Hospital via helicopter. (WBHF via Facebook)
  2. Alex Bernard Joyner's probation was revoked by Cherokee Judicial Circuit Judge Suzanne H. Smith. Joyner had four years, 10 months and 11 days remaining on probation from an aggravated assault conviction in September 2009. The Cartersville resident is facing several felony offenses, attempting to elude a police officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and is accused of murdering 27-year-old Malayca Jones.   3. Sam Phillips graduated in 2021 from Cartersville High School and made it to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's football roster as a receiver.
