Feed The Community Dinner Returns Saturday

This weekend, New Frontier of Bartow County will host its 15th Annual Feed the Community Dinner.

The event, which will be held in honor of Michael Dean, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Cartersville Civic Center.

The traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Along with the meal, other services will be available, such as blood pressure checks, free clothing and toys and free haircuts to those in need of these opportunities.

The dinner is open to everyone in the community, including senior citizens, shelter residents, less fortunate families, veterans or those just wishing to fellowship with their neighbor.

To help make this year’s dinner a success, New Frontier is in need of financial donations. Each year the organization strives to serve up to 2,000 people in the community through the dinner.

Volunteers are also needed to help make the event run seamlessly. Anyone who is interested should contact William Solomon at (404) 625-3880. These opportunities will include serving food, helping with the clothing closet, parking lot attendants and cleaning up following the event.

Free transportation is being provided by Bartow Transit to and from the event. To schedule a pickup call (770) 387-5165 before the day of the event.

The New Frontier of Bartow County, Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving the community through several programs aimed at increasing education opportunities for the youth by providing scholarships and free SAT Prep Courses, increasing voter registration and participation in all elections and providing a voice for those in the community often neglected and forgotten.
