Festival of Trees Brings Christmas To Less Fortunate Children

The two-week festival presented by The Just Believe Christmas for Kids Foundation raises funds to purchase gifts for needy kids.

Cartersville and Bartow County residents will have to wait just two more days before the Euharlee Festival of Trees returns.

The two-week officially begins at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 29 with the start of the Euharlee Christmas Parade at Woodland Middle School at 1061 Euharlee Road. The festival will run through Dec. 13.

Organized by The Just Believe Christmas for Kids Foundation, the festival will take place at the Euharlee Granary at 114 Covered Bridge Road. The hours will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the week and 6 p.m. to 10 pm. on the weekends.

Area businesses and families from around the area donate fully decorated artificial Christmas trees, which are then displayed during the two week festival.

Residents come from all over to see the displayed trees, other Christmas decorations and to take part in the available activities.

While the festival is open seven days a week, Santa Claus will visit 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to find out what the local children want for Christmas and to have their picture taken with Old Saint Nick.

While Santa is in town, organizers will have a fire pit to roast marshmallows and enjoy the company of neighbors and friends. On the last Saturday of the Festival, the decorated trees are auctioned off to the highest bidder. The proceeds from the auction will go towards purchasing gifts for children 12 years of age and younger who might otherwise go without any presents under their tree at Christmas.

While it’s free to attend the festival and enjoy the refreshments, donations are always welcome to enable the organization to keep the Festival free for everyone to enjoy.

Pictures of children child with Santa will be available for download on Facebook or from the festival’s website for those without access to Facebook.
