The tractor-trailer continued north and onto the right shoulder where it collided with a Department of Transportation sign and power pole. The truck came to a rest in the front yard of a home in the 2100 block of U.S. 411. The tractor trailer, which was leaking diesel fuel in the front yard, caught fire and the blaze spread to two homes.
Residents of both houses were able to escape without injuries. Eubanks was still inside the tractor trailer and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. Zarzana was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.
