Here are the top stories in Cartersville today:

  1. An Adairsville man is in the Bartow County Jail for shooting his son during an argument in a restaurant parking lot. The 40-year-old victim was rushed into surgery and is in stable condition in the ICU. The 64-year-old father is facing charges of "Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a felony, Reckless Conduct, and Pointing a gun at another person." (wbhfradio.org)
  2. A five year old child was killed in a crash on Saturday morning. The driver of the vehicle failed to maintain lane, crashed and the vehicle rolled several times. An infant in the vehicle and the driver were treated for minor injuries. The driver is being charged with "homicide by vehicle non-habitual violator, driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane, and seat belt violation involving a child less than 5 years of age."   3. A student was hit with a pair of scissors by another student while in the restroom at Woodland Middle School on Monday, Feb. 6th. The victim was treated for minor injuries and the alleged assailant may be facing charges. The Bartow County School System does not plan to issue any further information on the incident at this time.
