Filming To Close Portion of Red Top Mountain Road

The closure will be located between Old Alabama Road and U.S. 41/Joe Frank Harris Parkway.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Motorist in Bartow County who routinely make Red Top Mountain Road part of their daily commute should take note of an upcoming detour.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorist a detour is scheduled for Monday, June 27 to accommodate a filming project by SM Film Productions, Inc.

The portion of Red Top Mountain Road between Old Alabama Road and U.S. 41/Joe Frank Harris Parkway will be closed from midnight to 11:59 p.m. and traffic will be detoured onto S.R. 293.

Emerson police officers will help direct traffic, and signs will be placed along the detour route to help motorist get around the closed portion of the road.

There will be an emergency lane that will be open to emergency vehicles if needed, however. This filming project and the road closure it necessitate are dependent on the weather and subject to change.
