  1. A Friday evening house fire has claimed the life of an unidentified person. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is being investigated. The GBI is working to identify the person killed in the fire. (wbhfradio.org)
  2. The city of Cartersville has reported a general fund loss of $564,566 for the month of December 2022. The water and sewer fund had posted a net loss that month of roughly $227,000, which was an improvement over December 2021's "$1.4 million net loss for the fund." The gas fund also posted a loss of $213,593, although December 2021 saw a net profit "of about $1.1 million." (Subscription: The Daily Tribune News)
  3. The board of Highland Rivers Behavioral Health will hold a meeting in Cartersville that will be open to the public. The meeting will occur at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Cartersville Chamber of Commerce, 122 W. Main St. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
